Invermere farmers’ market
June 16 – Sep 8, Invermere –
One of the highlights of every summer season in Invermere, BC, is the weekly farmers’ market. On a typical summer Saturday morning, crowds of enthusiastic locals and visitors, close to 2,000 of them in fact, head on downtown early, pushing younger family members in their strollers, perhaps with the family pet along for the fresh air. They come for the merriment, the friendly atmosphere and the freshest, the best-quality locally produced produce, baking, arts and crafts. They come to meet old friends and make new ones, to catch up on local gossip and to enjoy Invermere at its very best.
This season, there will be about 55 booths with every item guaranteed to be either made, baked or grown by the seller. Browse the beautiful handmade jewelery, paintings, photography, ceramics, woodwork, handbags, baby and children’s wear, glass painting and more. You will find what you are looking for and much more than you had expected.
And while you wander around with a steaming cup of delicious locally roasted coffee and a fresh-from-the-oven croissant, local musicians will entertain you with lively tunes. Take home a loaf of artisan bread, fresh from a wood oven, a delicious berry pie or a pail of locally produced honey that has to be the best you’ve ever tasted. The produce is freshly picked, and much of it is organically grown.
One of the nicest things about the Invermere farmers’ market is the fact that many of the vendors are incredibly talented and enterprising young people. They entertain with their music, they bake delectable goodies and they make lovely jewelery, helping to make the market a truly unique experience for every visitor.
Market hours are from 9:00am to 1:00pm each week. Just come on downtown –- you can’t miss it. Hope to see you there!
