Dining In the Columbia Valley
There is no shortage of great places to eat in the Columbia Valley and there is definitely something to please every appetite.
Perhaps you are a bit fuzzy in the mornings and your appetite is small. How does a cup of freshly-brewed and locally-roasted coffee with a just-baked muffin sound? Or you can move right on down the menu to the Lumberjack Special! On Sunday mornings, many of the resorts and hotels have wonderful brunch buffets that dazzle the eye and definitely satisfy the palate.
Stop for a quick lunch at a favorite fast-food place –- there are many in the valley -– or go for just about the best pizza you’ve ever tasted. If you are hungry and want a delicious, nutritious light lunch, there are some really good cafes that serve home-cooked, natural foods — proving you don’t have to sacrifice good taste for good health.
An endless variety of fine dining experiences await you in the evening, with your choice of really great Canadian, traditional, authentic old-world European, Greek, Italian, Chinese or Japanese fare. Sushi, anyone? You can dine in leisure on a patio overlooking beautiful Lake Windermere while you watch the boats playing in the sparkling blue water, or gaze out at a breathtaking view of the mountains beyond a stretch of golf-course green. How about an elegant meal, beautifully prepared and served in a historic old house? Or, in winter, perhaps you’d like to sit by a crackling fire in a log lodge while you sip an apres-ski drink or enjoy hearty mountain cuisine as you gaze out at the skiers on the slopes?
Whatever choices you make, you will remember dining in the Columbia Valley as some of the most pleasant experiences of your vacation.
