The Bistro
Breakfast served all day.
Want to know where to get an old-fashioned all-day breakfast while you are visiting the Columbia Valley? A quick and delicious lunch? Or do you fancy a 12-ounce bottomless cup of the finest coffee? May we recommend The Bistro in downtown Invermere, across the street from the Toby Theatre.

Pierre Panneton, affectionately known to all as Peter, has been chef/operator and restaurateur extraordinaire of The Bistro for over ten years. Before opening The Bistro, he served as chef garde manger in Gino’s, a Swiss-Italian restaurant in Banff and at Chalet Eidelweiss in Invermere. Peter is a Red Seal journeyman cook whose passion is to serve his customers only the most delicious foods that are made without fillers or preservatives –- the way it used to be done.
As a result, 90% of the food served at The Bistro is prepared right on site from the freshest possible ingredients. You can enjoy a bowl of awesome, freshly made soup created daily by cook Dylan Farrell, served with a baked-right-in-our-kitchen bun. Add a slice of apple-spice-walnut-raisin bundt cake right from the oven and you’ve got a meal to remember!
A Bistro hamburger is truly a masterpiece! Imagine a 100% pure beef patty with no fillers whatsoever on a freshly-made bun, garnished with tomato and lettuce and served with a side of French fries that have been freshly cut in the Bistro kitchen!
The lowly hot dog takes on new meaning at The Bistro, too. You can choose from the extra big jumbo dog, a delicious bratwurst made on-site, or the amazing Montreal dog which is a quarter-pounder on a freshly baked bun, topped with mustard and a special coleslaw.
Inspired by some of Peter’s friends, The Bistro menu offers some really scrumptious vegan dishes such as California chick pea chili, Curry carrot soup or seasonal curry squash, all served with fresh bannock. Or there’s the delicious veggie burger with salsa, onions, mayonnaise and lettuce and served with your choice of soup, salad or fresh-cut fries.

Salads become extra special with The Bistro’s own mayonnaise-based French-style house dressing. Purchase a bottle of this spectacular dressing at The Bistro or find it at Sobey’s.
During the summer months, visitors can order at the open window and enjoy the sunshine and the passersby while they sit on the outside deck to enjoy their meal. Cool off with a thick milkshake, made the old-fashioned way with ice cream and milk. Or how about a banana split or an ice cream cone or float? Whether you dine inside or out, you will be served by friendly and efficient staff who are there to make your visit to The Bistro a pleasant one.
Don’t forget to ask if there is a daily special. And while we think of it, portions are large so if your appetite is a bit on the small side, please ask to share your meal with a friend. The staff are happy to oblige.
The Bistro is open every day of the week. Hours are from 9am to 4pm in the summer and from 9am to 3pm the rest of the year.
