Many reasons to visit Pynelogs
If your summer is going anything like mine, it is absolutely flying by! But that doesn’t mean it’s too late to still complete some of those things you hoped to accomplish this summer. If expanding your artistic side was on summer’s “to do” list, Pynelogs still has some workshops with open spaces for August and September.
Carney Oudendag still has one more workshop lined up for August — it’s a quick-draw workshop called Cats in Hats. Come and discover how to sketch cats using a variety of drawing and art materials.
Pynelogs’ own Sarah Frazier has one more workshop in August, its a digital film-making for beginners class, sure to entice those who are curious about the film-making process, from setting up a good composition to burning your project onto a DVD.

Do you feel like stretching your artistic wings this fall? Well if you do, you’re in luck because the Columbia Valley Arts Council is offering a number of artist-run workshops that will teach you some unique ways to explore your creative side.
Starting on September 12th, local pottery legend Alice Hale will be offering a two-part workshop entitled ‘Raku for Everyone.’ Whether you’re eight or eighty, Alice’s long career and wealth of experience will help you become the potter you’ve always wanted to be.

Nelson’s Bryn Stevenson was born into a family of working artists, and has been practicing his own brand of oil painting for many years. He draws his inspiration from his backcountry explorations, classifying his works as an impressionistic form or realism.

Have you ever been to India? Would you like to take a trip without leaving the Columbia Valley? Well come on down to Pynelogs Cultural Centre on Saturday, August 25th for an interactive slideshow from renowned local photographer Cheryl Goodwin.
Cheryl is part of the current show at Pynelogs, and will be taking us all on a lovely journey through India at 7 p.m. to compliment her stunning photographs. The photos are a result of a trip to India that Cheryl took in 2011, which she said had a huge impact on her.
